6.1 Sections of the original article
Introduction. A brief overview of the issue, the reason for the need for research, and its purpose.
Materials and methods. A detailed description of all aspects of the study design: criteria for the inclusion and exclusion of patients, the main and additional parameters to be evaluated, research methods, equipment used, methods and principles of grouping, methods of statistical analysis. The described research methods should ensure that the results can be reproduced. When listing the equipment used, the manufacturer and the country are indicated in parentheses.; When listing medicines and chemicals used in the course of work, their international nonproprietary (generally accepted) names, doses, and routes of administration are indicated.
If the conducted research requires it, indicate by which decision of the ethics committee it was approved (quote its conclusion, indicating the document number, date of its signing and the official name of the ethics committee), the fact that the subjects signed informed consent or the fact that the rules of bioethics (the rights of laboratory animals) were observed.
Results. They should be presented in a logical sequence and reflect the data of the study described above without references to literary sources. The results are presented clearly, in the form of short descriptions with references to graphs, tables and figures. It is preferable to start the section with a graph showing the selection of patients for analysis ("patient flow chart") in order to explain the formation of the study group.
Discussion. Identification of new and important aspects based on the results of the conducted research, analysis of possible mechanisms or interpretation of the results obtained, comparison of their own results with the data of other researchers. It is possible to include sound recommendations for clinical practice and the application of the data obtained in upcoming studies. The section should end with a statement of the strengths and weaknesses of the research conducted in comparison with existing analogues. It is necessary to avoid repeating the information from the "Introduction" section and listing the data in detail from the "Results" section.
Conclusion. It should be short and concise (no more than 1 paragraph). Summarizing the work done and the authors' hypothesis about the significance of the data obtained in the context of pathogenesis, treatment, diagnosis; prospects for using the data obtained.
6.2 Ethical issues and additional attributes of the article

The first in the list of authors should be the head of the research team who was most involved in carrying out the work and preparing the manuscript. He should also be responsible for communication with the editorial board and readers (after the publication of the article). When approving the final version of the article for publication, he must make sure that the co-authors have seen and approved it.
Solely securing funding, providing laboratory materials and tools, technical editing of the manuscript, scientific advice, or general leadership of the research team do not justify inclusion in the author's group.
All members of the research team who do not meet the criteria of authorship, but who have assisted in carrying out the work and writing the article, should be listed with their consent in the "Acknowledgements" section indicating their participation. For example:
Thanks:

In this case, the authors should inform the patients whether there is a possibility that the material identifying them will be available online after publication. To publish the results of the original work, the authors must provide the editorial board with the written informed consent of the patient(s) to disseminate the information and report this in the article, placing the following indication after the list of references:
Respect for patients' rights and rules of bioethics
The study protocol was approved by the Committee on Biomedical Ethics <...>.

General information on article submission charge, paid services available to authors
Manuscripts submitted by author teams for publication are reviewed free of charge (no article submission fee). After review and approval by the editorial board, articles are published without any additional fees for authors (no article processing fee, no article publication fee)
The publisher does not accept payment for publication as it is often considered by the scientific community as a factor leading to a decline in quality of publications in open-source journals due to direct financial conflict between the publisher seeking to publish more articles and the editorial board trying to select the best studies. Therefore, payment for article consideration does not create financial interest in the number of published articles and subsequently does not lead to loss of quality during article selection.
Payment for article consideration, peer review and editing (mandatory payment)
The editors’ office accepts payment for consideration, peer review and editing of every submitted article in the amount of 20,000 (twenty thousand) rubles to compensate the organization of quality article consideration.
The procedure of manuscript consideration includes:
- accelerated publication procedure;
- primary review by the editors for conformity to editorial requirements and author guidelines published on the journal site;
- manuscript inspection for borrowed text and/or graphic elements;
- organization of the procedure of double-blind review including recommendations for manuscript revision and repeat review;
- article presentation at the editorial board meeting;
- messaging the authors the decision of the journal editorial staff.
Article submission charge should be paid during the procedure of article submission. Authors should remember that the process of article submission cannot be completed, and manuscript cannot be considered by the editors and reviewers prior to payment.
Payment procedure
Download the agreement at the link, fill it in and send it to apo@id-medink.ru
After agreement review, you will receive a link for online payment.
For exchange of original documents (agreement, 2 consent form for the processing of personal data, agreement report), you will be contacted by a staff member of the Publishing House.
Attention! Payment of the article submission charge does not guarantee publication in the journal. If the manuscript is not accepted by the editorial board due to objective reasons (negative reviews, missed deadline on manuscript revision, refusal to revise the article in accordance with the editorial requirements, infraction on the principles of publication ethics and journal policy), article submission charge won’t be returned.
- Article Retraction
According to the rules of the Council on Ethics of Scientific Publications of Association of Science Editors and Publishers, the grounds for article retraction are:
- detection of plagiarism in the article;
- detection of falsifications (for example, manipulation of experimental data);
- detection of serious errors that cast doubt on scientific value of the article;
- incorrect list of authors;
- duplication of the article in several journals;
- republishing the article without the author’s consent;
- concealment of conflict of interest and other violations of publication ethics;
- the fact that the article hasn’t been peer reviewed.
After the decision to retract the article is made, the chief editor informs its authors, indicating the reason and date of retraction. The article remains on the journal’s site as part of the corresponding journal issue, but is marked “Retracted” with the retraction date (the mark is placed on top of the text of the article and in the table of contents); in addition, a message about retraction is placed in the news section of the site, and the chief editor sends information about the article retraction to all online libraries and databases in which the journal is indexed.
- Preprint and Postprint Policy
Prior to acceptance and publication in "Academy for Practical Oncology", authors may make their submissions available as preprints on personal or public websites.
As part of submission process, authors are required to confirm that the submission has not been previously published, nor has been submitted. After a manuscript has been published in "The Russian Journal of Neurosurgery" («Academy for Practical Oncology») we suggest that the link to the article on journal's website is used when the article is shared on personal or public websites.
Glossary (by SHERPA)
Preprint - In the context of Open Access, a preprint is a draft of an academic article or other publication before it has been submitted for peer-review or other quality assurance procedure as part of the publication process. Preprints cover initial and successive drafts of articles, working papers or draft conference papers.
Postprint - The final version of an academic article or other publication - after it has been peer-reviewed and revised into its final form by the author. As a general term this covers both the author's final version and the version as published, with formatting and copy-editing changes in place.
